Sewing patterns: Scissors Holder

Do you have the same problem as I do?

Do your scissors always disappear when you need them?

Mine don’t any more. I now keep them all together in the same place.

In my scissors holder

Isn’t it cute and useful?

I love how it can fit three scissors.
If you want to make one, too…

…here is my tutorial!

You’ll need:

  1. 2 pieces of coordinating fabric, 8 ½ x 11 ½ inches each

  2. 1 piece of thin quilt batting , 8 ½ x 11 ½ inches

  3. coordinating thread

  4. decorative buttons

  5. needle

  6. sewing machine

  7. pins

Then place your 2 fabrics together, with right sides together and then lay your batting on top

Pin in place

Sew around the edges (all 3 pieces),

leaving about 3 inches open in one of the sides.

Trim off the corners

Turn right side out and shove a pencil into the ends, to poke the corners out nice.

Then fold down the fabrics of the opening and pin closed. Hand stitch it.

Now, sew around the entire piece , close to the edge, with a decorative stitch.

Then fold like this and pin

and this and pin

and like this and pin.

Hand stitch the sides edge.

Decorate it with cute buttons.

Now just add your scissor and enjoy!

First, cut your 2 pieces of fabric and you batting into 8 ½ x 11 ½ inch rectangles.
