Recycled Shirts!

I hate putting in zippers, or-heaven forbid-buttons and holes! So one thing I like to do is save the front section of a button up shirt and add it to something else, to save some myself some effort!

Today I used the buttons and cuffs of this old shirt of mine to dress up this shirt of my daughter’s….

I cut the button section off, leaving some room for seams on the outer edges….
Whacked off the cuffs and cut the end to make it sleeve-shaped…
Cut off the sleeves of the little shirt, and cut the front in half down the middle…
Pinned the sleeves onto the armholes and sewed them on….
Opened the button section, and pinned to the little shirt, right sides together, making sure that the buttons matched up with the holes, and sewed them on…

And ta-da! A new shirt!

Perfect for eating homemade cookies in!

I think I may take the shoulders in a little. They are a little “football player” on her.
