Paper crafts for kids: Summer Camp for Kids, Fancy Fans tutorial

Supplies for Fancy Fans:

  • 12×12 inch Scrapbooking Paper (the heavier kind works better)
  • Glitter Paint
  • Jewels
  • Glue
  • Stapler
  • Scissors
  • Embroidery Floss

1. Cut a couple inches off the bottom of your piece of paper to make it more of a rectangle than a square. Fold the paper into a fan and then unfold it. This helps you to know where the folds are so you don’t put jewels on them that will end up falling off too easily.

2. Fancy up your fan by decorating the top with glitter paint and jewels. Attach with glue if needed. Let dry.

3. Cut each circle of floss in half. (I bought embroidery floss that went with the colors of the paper.)

4. Fold your fan again. In between the folds at the bottom of the fan put in your cut embroidery floss. Staple the bottom of the fan.

Hope you enjoy this Fancy Fan craft as much as my three little girls did! We used them at our Tea Party in the Woods that we had last week. Such a fun addition to a party.
