 Heat Therapy Bag:

sewing patterns

On Friday’s I take a fabulous tutorial and make my own version!
Today I got my inspiration here, and I made a heat therapy bag. Well, actually I made two!
They are very simple to make, and in my opinion better than a heating pad!
What you’ll need:
  • Piece of flannel fabric mine was 16 x 9 inches
  • White Rice (Not instant rice)
  • Essential Oil (Optional)
  • Thread and sewing machine
Fold your fabric in half lengthwise with the right sides together.

Leave a 1/4″seam allowance and stitch down the side where the two folded ends meet.

Move the seam to the middle of the rectangle.

Sew down one of the short sides, leaving 1/4″ seam allowance.

Flip right side out.
Top stitch on the same short side using an 1/8″ seam allowance.

Fill your bag with rice, I used a little under 3 cups.
Add a few drops of essential oil. I used coconut lime!!

Fold the end over and pin.
Leaving a 1/8″ seam allowance pin and stitch the other side.

That’s all it takes…

To use the therapy bag heat for 1-2 min.
After doing this my kitchen now smells like a beach (or tanning lotion)!

I also made a smaller bag perfect for warming hands. The original fabric piece was 10 x 5 inches for the smaller version.

 Have a happy weekend!
