 Easter Hen, sewing patterns

This little Easter hen can hide a big egg-shaped surprise! This Easter hen is a small, simple package which you can close with Velcro at the bottom and can easily be made with children.

Supplies

Tools

  1. Pins,
  2. Sewing needles,
  3. Scissors

Materials

  1. 1 yellow cotton rectangle 20 x15 cm(8 x6 inches),
  2. Some pieces of felt: an orange one of 5cm x5 cm(2 inchesx2 inches) and a 6cm x 10cm (2.4 inchesx4 inches) yellow one,
  3. 5 cm(2 inches) of Velcro,
  4. Matching thread,
  5. Fabric glue (optional),
  6. Two beads or little buttons for eyes,
  7. And why not use some feathers???

Directions

  1. Cut put a 20cm x 15cm (6 inches x 8 inches) rectangle from the fabric.
  1. Cut out the crest, the beak, the tail and 2 wings from the felt pieces.

Assemble the Easter Hen

  1. Fold the rectangle in two.
  2. Put the crest and the beak into position and pin them inside of the rectangle.
  3. Sew the 2 sides of the rectangle, stitching in the crest and beak as well.
  4. Turn it inside out.
  5. Stick (or sew) on the yellow felt wings and the eyes.

  1. Make a pyramid-like shape with the hen, fold back the left over stitching and sew the Velcro bands face to face on the inside.
  2. Stick on the hen’s tail.
