Curious Needlework – tatting

Tatting – a lace with shuttles. This weightless and delicate lace (with interwoven beads, this technique called Ankars) is really easy to learn. It needs perseverance, a little time, and of course, training.

 

My love for tatting come as soon as I happened at one of rukodelnyh clubs saw the stunning beauty of openwork cloth. Absolutely no idea how to do this hook (and I was sure that this performance is knitting), I asked the author – and I uttered the mysterious word tatting. Then I went to move the Internet, delved into a lot of literature, there was a terrible desire to learn this craft.

To his own regret to learn and master this technique, I could not. However, passion and Everest on the shoulder, I signed up for courses – and for two weeks already “subscribed pico” and check nodes.

These two small towels (in diameter 10 and 15 cm), the earliest work (performed by two shuttles).

Then came the imagination and some work (as these earrings) were created in the free form (without schemes) is literally a few tens of minutes.

The Gothic set (bracelet and a pendant on a satin ribbon), I spent a total of several days (about 3 days). But I think the set was worth it!

And a selection of summer merry-colored earrings.

The technique traditionally used thread tatting cotton (thin – Iris, Violet, Maxi, chamomile, Perle), and I also experimented with artificial – Tulip, Maya, but moving threads for tatting will not fit – do not hold knots tangled thread, this product does not holds shape.

Here are some of my work (unfortunately not complete), there is not time to buy suitable accessories.

Originally learned this technique I was buying the company shuttles Wellcraft, but they were not very comfortable (small drop out of the hands, the number of threads for winding – low).

And since we’re in the city of their choice is small – I stopped at the shuttle company Gamma (more convenient and inexpensive). Of course, ideally you want the shuttle more exclusive, more convenient, as it were, a “friend.”

In addition to the earrings and bracelets I have several necklaces – this one (not finished). There will be beads and hung a large black pearl.

These earrings are preparing for the summer season – sea, beach, clouds, white clothes and tanned skin.

This is a test pen (gold items were tried with threads Tulip) – beautiful, brilliant, but very hard to weave.

And the whole idea of ​​tatting has prompted me to behold this unearthly beauty – learn to make such masterpieces of my dream!
