Crafty jewelry: DIY Anthropologie-Inspired Earrings

Beading and knotting, Jewelry making  |  September 30th 2011  |  0 Comment

This tutorial will show you how I remade those fabulous earrings in gold for nearly 1/5 of the price.  My finished earrings are on sale (Bella Jean, $12.00) online at my Etsy Shop — Agora Bliss.

Project Materials:

  • Gold Chain, about 24 inches
  • Jump Rings, 2 gold
  • Ear Hooks, 2 gold
  • Gold Wire, 24 gauge, approx 2.5 inches long
  • Jewelry Spacers, Metal Beads, Liquid Twist, 4

Project Instructions:

Measure and cut gold chain into two 3-inch pieces.  Use a jump ring to link the two pieces of gold chain together.  Also, attach your fish hook earring finding to the jump ring.

Using the gold wire, make a small loop that you will attach to the end of pre-cut chains.

Attach jewelry spacers (2) to the open end of the gold wire and secure the spacers with another loop on the opposite end of the wire.

Attach the loop ends of the gold wire to both pieces of gold chain to form the top part of the earring.

Measure and cut a piece of gold chain that measures 2.5 inches long.

Attach the cut gold chain to both wire loops to complete the earring.
