Button Tree Christmas card

I had a vison of a button/ribbon tree in my head but this falls a little short. Not exactly what I had thought of!

I tied ribbons through buttons and attached in a tree shape. The trunk is stamped with the Striped Circle. I embossed snowflakes in 2 different ep and added gems. The sentiment in embossed in red and I added a bit of distress ink.

Vintage Buttons: Circles Inside Circles

Part of my collection of vintage buttons. Love how the original collector grouped the colors so nicely on this display card.

And I definitely like how the circles inside those round buttons look here. With sunlight coming in from my office window. Reaching the buttons on that green formica desk/table…

Tree

I started this in the bus yesterday on my way to Seattle, but I felt nauseated and had to stop, so I finished it today.
This is a project from the needle arts group I belong, each member will make a tree. We got the same measurements, but each of us is decorating it the way we want.
I’m excited to see what the other people will come up with!

Button Tree This is a book that’s bound in cotton button fabric and blue paper, and has a button tree that I hand-sewed, using a bunch of buttons and wool felt.

Ok im going to miss the deadline for the tree challenge, my buttons were late and now ive just spent the afternoon ripping off the background that i rushed !! Visitors the next few days …oh well

I ran out of the brown for this tree halfway down the trunk over a month ago. Like a doofus, I didn’t write down the number on the skein and it has taken me this long of finding browns and bringing them home to find a match. Now the question is, what other brown things can I make, since I have SO MANY shades now!

It can be an orange tree, OR the Miami Hurricanes, but as a Seminole, I have to frown on that interpretation.

Edun Button Tree

2nd prize in the Edun/Made-By t-shirt design competition.
The theme was “Fashion With Respect for People and the Planet” and I won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize!
